Kate Roome

President

Kate joined the Board of C.L.A.N. in 2021  and was appointed as President at the April 2024 meeting held in London when Stewart Germann stepped down after 4 years in the position.

Kate was born and raised in Duncan, the heart of the Cowichan Valley. After earning a BA from the University of Victoria and diploma of Equine Massage Therapy in London, Ontario, she returned to the Valley to settle. In 2014 she earned a Master of Applied Legal Studies from Simon Fraser University.

Prior to being commissioned as a Notary Public in and for the Province of British Columbia in May of 2014 she practised as an award winning Realtor with Re/max of Duncan for six years. Becoming a Notary Public was the perfect way to put her previous experience and love of helping people to use.

Currently Kate runs her busy Notary practice, located in Duncan, offering services including real estate transfers, mortgages, wills and powers of attorney.

An eager participant in her community, Kate regularly serves on local not for profit boards and is a member of the City of Duncan Rotary Club and the Cowichan Duncan Chamber.

In her free time Kate loves to travel, hike, boat, downhill ski and has a deep passion for equestrian sports.
